Apogee Hospitalists Provide Outstanding Care to NYU Professor’s Mother

Dear Dr. Brennan,
My mother was an inpatient at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center this year. She is 85, is in an early stage of Alzheimer’s disease, and suffered mini-strokes which led her to you. I’m writing to say how excellent her care was.

Despite the fact this was a weekend stay, my mother had constant visits from attending physicians and extensive testing, including MRI, echocardiogram, etc. The tests were done promptly, without the long waits on stretcher in hallways that patients often experience while awaiting their turn. Results were quickly available, and the team of doctors was in frequent contact with me.

I was particularly impressed with the hospitalist in charge, Dr. Manisha Grover. She coordinated my mother’s care most efficiently and effectively, and was literally always available via cell phone. (I was stunned when she gave me her number.) I understand that the hospitalist program is fairly new at NBIMC, and I feel strongly that this is a terrific innovation and will truly benefit your patients, Dr. Grover is a caring professional, and we were fortunate to have her in charge of my mother’s care.

I’d also like to single out her nurse, Rohini Dhand, who administered often uncomfortable procedures very caringly, and who took the time to briefly chat with my mother, greatly relaxing her.

I am a member of the faculty of the NYU School of Medicine, and I cannot say enough about the outstanding care the Apogee Hospitalists provided. I wish you all continued success; I’m sure the community benefits greatly from having your team in their midst.

Very truly yours,
NYU Faculty Member
