5.9 Earthquake Strikes East Coast

Apogee Programs on East Coast Felt Tremors

An unusually strong magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Virginia this afternoon. Several Apogee programs along the East Coast felt the tremors, but fortunately all Apogee personnel are safe. Shirley D’Amora, a PIC at our program in Brick, NJ exclaimed, “I have been in tornadoes, but I have never felt anything like this!” Much of downtown D.C. has been evacuated, including the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. However, there are no reports of serious structural damage or injuries at this time.
